[Perlfect-search] Indexer quits while calculating weight vectors

Disregard that all. I got it to work by commenting in lines 29 & 30 in
indexer.pl:
use POSIX qw(nice);
nice 19;

I successfully installed Perlfect Search on a Linux machine, which I
have not telnet access to. I am indexing via http using IE with use
CGI::Carp (fatalsToBrowser); uncommented. The indexer quits with no
error messages at the same place every time, about 25% of the way
through "calculating weight vectors" as shown below:

0% 10% 20% 30% 40% 50% 60% 70% 80% 90% 100%

If I comment out line 172 in indexer.pl as shown below:
print "Calculating weight vectors: \n";
#weights();
The indexer will complete successfully, but of course, I get no results
in the search.
Any hints would be appreciated!
