[Perlfect-search] How come directory got indexed also?

Hi,

I am not sure whether this is a silly question, so please bear with me
as this is the 1st time I am implementing a search engine for a site.

I have the HTTP_START_URL variable set to = 'http://mySite/aDirectory'.
When I run the indexer, it seemed to index http://mySite/aDirectory as
well, inclusive of all the files under it.

Unless the message given is not accurate, I can't think of any reason
as to why we need to index a directory. The files under it should be
sufficient, right?

Please comment.
