[Perlfect-search] limits of Perfect Search

Hi everyone,

I am a happy user of Perfect Search on a number of small sites (< 100
files to be indexed).

I am wondering what the upper limit in terms of files to be indexed
for Perlfect Search is?

I need to index a site of about 3000 files, which fortunately do not
change very often. The site contains mainly documentation, so I only
need to reindex infrequently.

Does Perlfect handle sites of this size in a reasonable amount of
time?

Are there any alternatives? I have looked at ht://Dig, but it
requires too much disk space for its databases. Does anyone have
experiences with swish-e?

Thanks in advance -- Stephan
