[Perlfect-search] cannot perform initial index

Thank you for the response.  However, I did set $document_root and
$install_dir which had no effect on the error.  I still cannot figure out
where indexer.pl is getting the configuration information
"home/perlfect/perlfect.com/cgi-bin/search/inv_index_tmp."  Any other ideas?
