[Perlfect-search] need to exclude certain directory types

I'm running version 3.09 and I have lots of directories scattered all over
my web that contain configuration information (e.g. _vti_cnf) and I don't
want these to show up in the search results.  I know I can go in and add
every directory to the no_index file, but is there a way to exclude
directories with certain names at a "higher level" in the conf.pl or
indexer.pl?
