[Perlfect-search] backwards?

I just finished installing perlfect search 3.10; everything works just fine,
except that no searches return any matches whatsoever.

I have run the indexer.pl script several times, and watched it index each
and every one of my files; for some reason, however, even a search for my
first name (which should be present over 500 times) comes up blank.

Any ideas?
