[Perlfect-search] Help

I am not a developer, but I'll comment anyway.
This is just a wild guess, but I think the installed Perl is too old.
Have a look at the Perl version installed (perl -v). It should be greater
than 5.003 (cf http://www.perlfect.com/freescripts/search/faq.shtml).
